Message from the Director
Welcome to the Physical Activity Centre of Excellence (PACE) at McMaster University!
We are thrilled to have you join our vibrant community, where we embrace the numerous benefits of working out together. At PACE, we believe that exercising with others enhances motivation, commitment, and overall well-being through camaraderie and mutual support.
Our centre offers five specialized exercise programs designed for seniors and individuals living with cancer, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injuries. These programs are informed by the latest scientific research and tailored to meet each participant’s unique needs, ensuring that every exercise experience is safe, effective, and personalized to provide the highest level of care and results.
Exercise Programs
PACE offers five research-based exercise programs led by staff and students, and specialized physiotherapy services.
MacMS-FITT Learn More
A community-based exercise program for people with Multiple Sclerosis, modeled after evidence-based physical activity guidelines.
MacWarriors Learn More
Physiotherapy services and supervised exercise sessions for cancer survivors.
MacCardiac Learn More
A safe and supervised exercise program for people with heart disease.
MacSeniors Learn More
A personalized exercise and wellness program for adults 55 years of age and older.
MacWheelers Learn More
An exercise and wellness program designed specifically for adults with spinal cord injuries.
Physiotherapy Services Learn More
Our registered physiotherapist works with community members to address specific orthopedic or neurological concerns and help maintain or enhance physical function and mobility.
McMaster PACE-LIVE! AT HOME Learn More
Exercise along with our Registered Kinesiologists and Physiotherapist from the comfort and safety of your home.
McMaster PACE 2 Go Learn More
PACE 2 Go is for those who have been referred to a McMaster PACE community program, but are not interested in becoming an in-person member. Now you can get an exercise prescription tailored specifically to your unique abilities and goals with this new service option.
